Welcome to Fundy Powerlifting, a community for people who are interesting in healthy living and heavy lifting!

At Fundy we use the fundamental movements and training principals of powerlifting to help athletes realize their strength and fitness potential.

Do you need to be a powerlifter to join? Nope!

Do you have to be an aspiring powerlifter to be a member? Nope!

Our programming centers on three foundational movements: Squat, Bench Press & Deadlift but each athletes program is tailored to their goals, life-style, and timelines.

For advanced athletes who are simply looking for a community to train with, there is no requirement to follow the in-house programming. Our knowledgeable coaches will still be available help refine movements and assess imbalances and assist in any way you need.

Do I need to be a powerlifter to join?

No. We welcome all levels of experience and do not have any expectation of competitive lifting.

Do I need to want to powerlift to join?

Nope, we use powerlifting as a frame work for our programming because it creates a balanced and systematic approach to safely building strength. If you decided to try competitive lifting, we will help you along the way, but no pressure!

Do I need special equipment to join?

None. Wear comfortable indoor clothing (e.g. sneakers and some active wear). We don’t do fashion-shows we are here to get stronger, we will applaud your matching socks if it makes you feel good!

Aren’t all powerlifters just loud obnoxious and aggressive?

None that I have met, we are a pretty chill group, we have athletes from all walks of life, but our community strives for a family-friendly approach, you won’t find aggressive music, language or personalities in our group, just a bunch of people who are happiest when we can lift heavy things up and put them back down!

I’ve been at this for a while, do I need to follow your programming?

Not at all, we are building a community and that involves lifters at all experience levels and technical backgrounds. If you have your own thing, we would be happy to learn about it and support you however we can

What are your COVID-19 procedures?

We ask that all members sign up for sessions ahead of time to maintain an appropriate number of lifters/floor space. Check-in includes self- screening. Washrooms and changing rooms are limited capacity and while moving from station to station we ask athletes to wear a mask. All equipment is cleaned after each use and the gym is given a thorough cleaning as needed.

How do I get started?

Please contact Coach Drew if you are interested in joining.
